I've successfully used the method described in this post:

http://claytoncobb.wordpress.com/2009/06/21/infopath-get-manager-information/

It uses SharePoint user profiles instead of AD, but the principle should be the same.

Is there anyway of doing the following:

We have a PR Form that users can open and fill out. We have 'some' fields at the top of the form that are retrived from the users AD properties as soon as they open the form (Name, Dept etc). However, we would also like to have the users manager (as in firstname.surname@mail.com) however AD does not have this in the AD properties of the user. It does have manager name however, which we have showing as the form opens.

Is there a way of changing the manager name field and converting it into an e-mail address? For example, if I open the form it shows my name, department, e-mail address and my manager name:

James Branch

IS

james.branch@mail.com

fred SMITH

Can we put some code in to change the manager name field, so it shows as fred.smith@mail.com instead??

I've tried a few ways, but nothing seems to work for me! :(

Thanks all,

James
