When a user clicks a Submit to Approver button in my IP form, I switch my view to one more email friendly, then submit the data and close the form. I receive an email from SharePoint that looks great with data in the form(I love this feature). So if I'm not on our network, I inserted a hyperlink in the body of the email for the user to click that opens a new email. All I need is the file to go to a special email recipient (cake) but also have only my Filename in the Subject Line.

I attached my manifest file had to cut pages out due to size.

I figured it out.... concat("mailto:", "ApprovalEmails@mydomain.com", "?subject=", FileName)

Re: IP 2010 Can a Repeating Table be Inserted into an Approval Process email, OR how to insert Filename into the subject line of an email that is generated via a hyperlink in an IP form

This should work - the concat business with the passed in subject line - see attached sample. But I don't understand why your data isn't showing when you send the email? Just make sure it is in the view when you send the email - don't switch views prior to send (unless in a browser form) or you'll end up with a blank view. http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/27568/95471.aspx#95471

IP 2010 Can a Repeating Table be Inserted into an Approval Process email, OR how to insert Filename into the subject line of an email that is generated via a hyperlink in an IP form

I am working on an Expense Approval solution and since we can't purchase Nintex.... The InfoPath form is typical with a Repeating Table. All servers are behind our firewall. I have a requirement to allow managers to approve the expense report by clicking a link in the body of an email regardless if they are on our network or not. I found articles about "Lazy Approvals" that seemed perfect. I am sending an email requesting approval. Manager can click a link to Approve which sends an email to a library with the filename in the subject line. Then a webservice and workflow take over. Wa La.. or so I thought but I can't get the data in the repeating table to display in the Approval Process email. The Managers need to know what they are approving.

So then I thought I was overthinking the whole thing. All I need to do is create an email submit and switch the view to my approval form. A button doesn't appear when viewing my form in the body of the email so I added a hyperlink (MAILTO:ApprovalEmails@mydomain.com ). This solution would be perfect if I could figure out how to have my Filename appear in the subject line. So then I tried.... concat("mailto:", "ApprovalEmails@mydomain.com", "?subject=", ../my:FileName). This sets my subject line to be "../my:Filename".

SO my question is:
1. Is there a way to customize the approval process email to display repeating table data so it is easily read? If not,
2. Is there a way to insert Filename into the subject line of an email that is generated via a hyperlink?
