Do you have any details on the SSIS packages? Can they be repointed to a new library? I'd hope the columns promoted from the form would have the same internal name.... Oh - what is the item limit threshold on the library? Could that be keeping you from publishing? Do you have a SharePoint admin who could check the ULS logs from around the time of your publish attempt to see if there is more info? You could also try running Fiddler when you publish to see if you get more info....

Cannot update list or library when publishing form

Hi,

I'm working with an InfoPath form library in SP 2010. It's been in existence for several years and has about 6000 documents. The template.xsn is quite complex. We edit the form template in InfoPath, make no changes, and get the subject error when we publish. I made a test library with only 50 or so xml docs and I can publish the same template.xsn there (changing the site, of course).

I should add that there have been many admins and designers working on this site over the years. This starting happening after one of the ex-admins was trying to help us and I think she did something wrong because we ended up with template1.xsn. I switched the library settings back to template.xsn and relinked all the documents. Not sure if this is the cause of our inability to publish.

If I can't find a way to fix publishing the form, are there some drastic actions like wiping out and rebuilding the library? There are SSIS packages that populate a SQL database from the docs in the library--I can't mess with columns for fear of breaking those jobs.

Thanks,

Don
