If you do not have this logic yet, you may want to try out qRules. This is a very powerful tool you can use for inserting rows, setting specific values for rows (dynamically), delete rows, etc.

Another appraoch you could use is a double eval technique for concatenating multiple rows into one field. What you would need to add here is a logic that will determine similar rows and exclude or include them in the target field.

Regards,

Re: Help with advanced repeating table rules

Hi Don,

Thank you for your response. I hadn't though about highlighting the differences I was headed down the path of just excluding the ones that are similar. The issue I'm having right now is I'm unsure how to do the compares against my two lists. I can pull them both in, but I don't know the syntax for trying to compare list one's ID against list two's then displaying the results. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

May i know how you would want to display the ID's that are not found on the second list? If you are simply trying to highlight the row, could you try adding a formatting rule to the repeating section and add a highlight color with the condition field1 = field2 (where field1 is the ID node from the first list and field2 is the ID node of the secondt list) and see how it goes?

Hope this helps.

Help with advanced repeating table rules

Hi All,

I'm hoping you can provide suggestions or guidance on a problem I'm trying to solve, I'm trying to create a dashboard in SharePoint using InfoPath. What I want to do seems simple, but I'm having trouble getting the rules down right. I want to be able to use two data connections to query two diff. lists, then build a repeating table which shows the differences. Both lists use a type of ID and I want to include in my view while only showing items that aren't matches. I can build a repeating table and add conditioning rules which will skip adding a single element, but I can't figure out how to set a type of array that will increment to the next ID field and look for a match. Maybe there's a better approach to this solution I haven't thought of? Adding code and SharePoint designer are not options for me unfortunately.

Basically I want to query one list, pull back the IDs, then compare my results to the second list and show items where the ID's are not in the second.

Please let me know if you need more details on my issue. Thanks in advance.
