Query / Submit problem

Sorry if this has been answered I did a search and did not find anything.

Here is what I am trying to do:

I have two tables in my access database

(This is for a laboratory information system)

CoC (Chain of Custody table) - Contains information about the sampler, dates sampled, etc. Each sample set is identified by LabID (form ###-##)

Analytes - Contains all of the analytes that we analyze for

each sample is identifed by the LabID and SampleID (sample = "###-###-##")

I have a form that pulls up all of the information by searching for labID or sampleID but I also want it to query the CoC table and bring back some useful information from that table (ProjectID, DateRec, SampleType, PackageType, .... and so on)

I got this to work with just being able to query the data, but the data must also be able to be submited (only to the Analytes table, I do not want the user to be able to change any of the CoC data)

any tips? I'm sure this is easy but its been a while.
