info path makes a blank record in database

I have a table that has a one to many relationship with another table. I build an infopath 2007 form based on the main table (table 1) everything works great. say for instance I put in the second table (table 2) as a subform if the user needs to use it (repeating table in infopath). I can fill out the infopath form and put many records in the repeating table with the main form hit submit everything works great.

The problem I am having is what if the user does not need to use the repeating table and only needs to fill out the main form (table 1) and they leave the subform blank (table 2). I have found that even though the user left it blank when they hit submit access creates a record in table 2 without any information other than the primary key and the foriegn key. Is there a way that if the user left the subform blank, that it would just put in the main forms information and not create this orphan record in table 2.
