I was putting the back end db on the personal drive and front end on the public server. After I switched that and added a password to the back end db, everything's been working as I had hoped (quick, knock on wood!).
It's all good now. Thx. :-)

Re: front/back end Access 2003 database and Infopath 2003

Brenda

When you create your Infopath form from the Access DB you can choose which fields/tables are used in the form.

Would a person be able to pull up information through the Infopath form even if they don't have permissions to the personal drive?

My reasoning for this is to control what information can be accessed through the Infopath form. In other words, if a person only needs a customer name and id, they can run a query through an Infopath form without having to open the Access program, let alone even have Access on their computer. Most of my co-workers don't have Access on their computers, but all of them have Infopath. And for confidentiality purposes, I can't put parts of the database on the public server. Hence the front/backend.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
