I am looking on this article (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/infopath/HA102117541033.aspx#2) and says taht the form needs to be filled out through IP directly or otherwise use a data connection that submits data to a Web service that works with the database. As the the template is published on a Sharepoint site, it needs to be filled out by any browser. Does this mean tha I need to create my data connection by scratch or is there are other ways to get over this requirement?

Thanks again

Re: Infopath 2007 Linked to MS Access

Hi--

To use the built in InfoPath capability of submitting to an Access database, you need to base your form off the database at design time. If you wish to submit your data via code, the language you use may be dependent upon the version you are using and the tools you have available. IP 2007 comes with VSTA which you can use to add C# or VB.NET to your form. IP 2003 allows you to use jscript or vbscript, or you can use Visual Studio to add managed code (Visual Studio is also an option for IP 2007).

Our DBXL product doesn't submit to Access, but it does work with SQL Express, a free version of SQL. It allows you to use web services to submit your data. We have a free trial download if you want to check it out.

Infopath 2007 Linked to MS Access

Dear all,

I designed a simple template form, with some repeated sections. I have also set it to browse enable and publised it to a SharePoint site so that a user can fill it out through his/her browser. Now I need to do the following:

1. Create an Acces DB. The database will have a main table with a specific main index, and seperate tables, each one corresponding with the repeated form fields.

2. Link the form with the newly created DB.

Is that possible? Do I need to do some coding so that data can be availlable through the DB. It this is true which language is more appropriate (for my work I code with ANSI C/C++ and MFC 4.1)

I have searched through internet and found that somenone create the DB first and afterwards export the schema to a form.

Thanks in advance,

Sun

PS Is this the right board or is it better to post it 'Data Connection' one?
