Thanks for the guidance. Actually my form is already based off a Access DB. The retrieval part is fine for me. What i really want to do is that control some logic while inserting / updating the records while working with the DB. Please let me know how can i do this.

I already have some knowledge of javascript and vbscript, that's why i wanted some template code for that. Could you please guide me in this regard ?

Re: Sample code for inserting / retrieving a record into/from a MS access database

Hi --

If you are using InfoPath 2007, I encourage you to use C# for the 2007 object model instead of JScript. IP 2007 has VSTA, which is a much richer IDE than the script editor.

Here is an MSDN article on connecting to an Access Database via C# that might help you.

Re-reading your post, however, I see you also want to be able to retrieve records. Mightn't it be easier to use InfoPath's built in data connections and base your form off the DB you want to be able to submit / retrieve from?

Sample code for inserting / retrieving a record into/from a MS access database

Hi,

I am pretty new to infopath development. Can anyone please guide me how to create an infopath 2007 form to connect to a MS access table and insert/retrieve values to and from the MS access table.

I am trying to do the above using Jscript.

Say i have a table with one field. When i enter value in that field on the infopath form and hit submit, a record should be added and similarly for retrieval.

Any guidance / directions would be very much helpful.

Thanks,
