Do you get an error message of some kind? Drag the data connection onto your form so you can see the values being returned in the ID column. You can just delete the fields from the form when you are done troubleshooting. Put a calculated value on the form that displays the results of the same formula you are trying to use to generate the ID - what is the result?

The SharePoint List Item IDs are being set by qRules when you submit the items to the list. There should be no conflict caused by this, unless it is one in your rule logic. :)

Re: Autonumbering form from two different libraries w/ qRules?

It submits to a library and a list. I am using IP 2010.

Yes, I am trying to return data from a secondary data connection (i think! I am still learning). I have a Receive Data Connection that pulls the ID from the library. I then have a rule to query with that Data Connection, a rule that sets the value to 1 if the library is empty, and then a rule to set the value to max(id)+1 if the library is not empty.

I'm not sure what the problem is. It will not submit. I guess I am just wondering if there is an issue with pulling from 2 different ID values (one from the list and one from the library)?

Re: Autonumbering form from two different libraries w/ qRules?

I'm confused by your thread title - does this form submit to two different libraries? or just a library and a list? Are you using IP 2010 or IP 2007?

Are you returning data from a secondary data connection to your library to get the currently used IDs from that library? What issue are you having with your Max(ID) formula?

Sorry for the 20 questions, just need a little more detail. :)

Autonumbering form from two different libraries w/ qRules?

So, I have my form working how I want it to. It submits the form itself to a form library and the repeating table items each as a line item into a list.

Now, I also have each list item being numbered sequentially from the list ID (have that implemented & it works).

What I am trying to accomplish is give each Form a seperate Number, so it basically needs to pull from the ID of the form library. I have autonumbered forms before (but without using mapping, etc) successfully using the Max(id) + 1 formula + setting my first value if needed. However, it doesn't want to work on this form.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!
