A form with qRules injected

2. A form with custom code.

A new form, with no code (like the one you're describing), won't go thru the sandbox service, where as the two options above will.

Another thing to check is the postback settings on your form controls. These should be set to Always only when absolutely necessary. The more controls have Postback=Always, the slower the form.

Re: Infopath with qRules slow to load web browser.

Thanks for getting back to me Ernesto.

I have just created a new form, the form has a drop-down box that gets choices from a sharepoint list. Once the choice is selected, it sets the values to a few fields. One form has qRules injected to it, the other doesn't. It is totally codeless, no qRules command has been used yet. The form with qRules injected to it is noticeable slower than one without qRules injected into it. It sits on "sending data to server" for about 3-4 seconds before refreshing the screen. This only applies to web browser form. If I run the form in Infopath form filler, there is no difference in speed. Would the form be going thru the sandbox service even though no qRules code has been used yet? When the form gets more complicated, it could take upto 10-15 seconds to load the form and refresh the screen.

Thanks.

Kelly

Re: Infopath with qRules slow to load web browser.

Hi Kelly-,

If the form is published to a SharePoint 2010 server via the sandbox service, then I would suggest comparing the performance to a form with custom code (not qRules). Both the form with qRules and the form with custom code will make use of the sandbox service, and that will allow you to compare performance and determine whether one performs faster than the other, or whether they both take about the same time to load.

If you find that the form with qRules takes longer to load than the form with custom code, let us know. In general, however, what's happening is that the form goes thru the sandbox service, so it will indeed be slower than a codeless form.

Hope this helps.

Infopath with qRules slow to load web browser.

Hi,

I have an Infopath form that has qRules injected into it. I've noticed that the form takes a few more seconds to load than without qRules injected to it. The form just sets a few fields on load. Then I query a data connection. I have 2 forms that does exactly the same thing, one with qRules and one without. Is there a reason why the one with qRules takes longer to load?

Thanks

Kelly
