Wouldn't you just add some data connections to your SharePoint lists and then display the secondary data as desired on your form? You could add a button that re-queries the secondary data sources for them to use to refresh the data.

Updating an InfoPath form from SP Data

So I appreciate this requirement is somewhat reversed from the norm, however I have a collegue (really, it's not just me asking) that is trying to have an infoPath form that acts as a roll up of data (a dashboard if you like) from various SP list items potentially in a number of lists. and that can then be refreshed Ideally as and when data changes or at an interval or by a button. Can this be done OOTB with InfoPath? Is there a QRULES add on? Has anyone done this? Can it be done? How do I do it?

Help appreciated.
