Thanks for letting me know. XPath is case sensitive, so if your node is named "ID", you'd need to use the same case in the command.

Re: Attempting to submit to SharePoint List - Error: "Failed to select node for SharePoint List Id"

I think what changed is that I changed the command from "id" to "ID". Maybe I had the wrong case?

Re: Attempting to submit to SharePoint List - Error: "Failed to select node for SharePoint List Id"

Just to update the thread -- The failed to select node for list id error resolved itself -- not sure what was happening there -- maybe an extra space snuck into the command someplace?

Then the mapping had a URL that included a view -- we want that to just be the base SharePoint Site URL. The submit data connection needed a modification so that the listName parameter was including just the text and child elements....Finally (and here is where we knew we had this thing at our mercy) there was a SharePoint List column with a data type that was not the same as what we were submitting (it was yes / no and the data was not).

All's well that ends well, and the form is submitting to the list now.

Re: Attempting to submit to SharePoint List - Error: "Failed to select node for SharePoint List Id"

I just emailed it to the support address. Thanks, Hilary!

Re: Attempting to submit to SharePoint List - Error: "Failed to select node for SharePoint List Id"

Can you attach a copy of your form to a reply under the Options tab?
Here is the syntax of my button command:
SubmitToSharePointList /submit=ShPSubmit /mapping=mapping /id=my:ID /dsname=AddAttachment /xpath=my:attachments/my:attachmentFile /uniqueName=yes

It is a repeating table, and the name of the field is "ID."

Thanks,

The /id parameter needs to be the XPath to a field in your data source. If you are submitting repeating data, that XPath would be relative (like my:id, if you had a node named "id" in your repeating group). If you are submitting non-repeating data, your XPath will be absolute, like my:myFields/my:Group/my:IdField (if you had a field in your data source located in "Group" named "IdField").

Attempting to submit to SharePoint List - Error: "Failed to select node for SharePoint List Id"

I am attempting to submit to a SharePoint list using the instructions here:
http://www.infopathdev.com/files/folders/qrules/entry61475.aspx

When I click the "Submit to SharePoint List" button on page 10, it does not update the list and I get an error that says, "Failed to select node for SharePoint List Id." What can I do about this?

Thanks!
