Is there anyway to block a user from signing a form if they don't have a signature or pin on file? Seems the Signature template part allows users without a signature or pin to sign a document.

It also seems you can kind of spoof a signature as well. If someone isn't setup in the system with a pin or signature you can change the user name to a valid sharepoint user and it will mark it as signed by that user and is just missing the picture signature.

Error when using Check In/Out UDC

I have successfully implemented your Check In/Out UDC Template on a few forms now. I absolultely love it!

I am trying to implement it on another form, but I keep getting this error:

The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: CheckInFile
InfoPath cannot run the specified query.
The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:

Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown.
<detail><errorstring xmlns="Invalid'>http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/">Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined.</errorstring></detail>

I get the same error when I try to check out as well.

The error seems to appear when The CheckIn or CheckOut fields (in Form Logic Data Source) try to Set Href. I am baffled because I am using the exact same rules to Set Href that were provided with the form and I did copy them into the formula box (from the value box) as described in the Template instructions.

In addition it seems as though my data connection Check-in_out isn't working. It returns nothing. I have verified over and over again that it is connected to the correct library and includes the ID and Check Out Fields but it doesn't return anything, even when the document is checked out.

Any ideas on what I am missing here?

There is a similar thread to this question but the solution is different for me I believe. The date stamp for the signature collects at form load when I believe it should collect the date at the checkbox submission. Which way is it supposed to operate?

When a user signs a form for some reason the date signed is the date the document was created. This is a major problem seeing users will start a form and not finish them until days later and instead dating it the day it was actually signed it signs it the date it was created. Is there a way to fix this?

Electronic Signature Picture and PIN Issue

I seem to be experiencing and issue where some of the signed forms, the signature picture does not display. This only seems to happen when we open a form save it to be edited later then opened again then trying to sign it. Signature works fine if the form is open and signed immediately.

I have also noticed that while in this state you can enter any PIN you want and it will sign the document under that username whether the PIN is correct or not. This is a major security issue.

Check in-out template part error

Hi,

I'm attempting to modify the CheckIn-Out template part to be used by our organization. I created the necessary CheckInFile and CheckOutFile UDCX files in a site collection data connection library and modified the manifest to point to the correct path. When I added the template part to a form, the data connections seem to be recognized without issue, in other words, if I choose Modify for the data connection, the form finds the UDC just fine. When I run the design checker, I get the following error: "Invalid form template", with the text "Relative links to Data Connection Libraries located on different SharePoint site collection are not supported."

This is where I'm confused. The UDC's are in the same site collection as the published form. Here's a snippet of the manifest, if that will help:

Expense report Task.xtp2

Morning all - I am trying to get through the Lab 9, 1 where I add the QdabraTask.xtp2 to the expense report form and get it to show status and write to a task list etc......

I have started over twice and worked all the way through and I am unable to get it to write to the task list.

I have changed and confirmed the GUID for the "List" item in the Main Data fields but nothing gets written to the list. Everythign else seems to be working - I get the report submitted to the Expense report list but there is nothing in the task dropdown for the approver to approve.

Ideas of things i can try?

I recently purchased the electronic signature xtp and having trouble with the PIN populating the PIN List. The signature picture is able to submit so I'm not quite sure where it went wrong.

Electronic Signature Template- does not work when adding new users

Hi, Infopath 2007 with Sharepoint 2010 I bought the template and followed the instructions and the system works really well for us. However, recently, whenever I add a new user/new pin and new signature image (have triple checked that permissions are correct), the control validates the user's PIN but the signature image is not returned/displayed correctly, just a blank image is displayed. If this user then saves the form and another, working user opens the saved form, the blank images is still displayed but with a small black and white 'x' in the top left corner of where the image should be. All users that I initially setup can still use the system fine, I just get this problem whenever I add a new user. No settings, etc. have been changed so I don't know what could be wrong. All users have read permissions for the 'Electronic Signatures' library. Any ideas?

Help getting started with the Check In/Out feature

I am a little confused on what to do to implement the new Check In/Out feature I just purchased from Qdabra. The included instructions take you through the steps of how to create a xtp and udc but there were xtp2 and udc files that downloaded with the product I downloaded, so do I need to follow these instructions to create new ones? Or can I just use the ones provided with the product download....and if I can just use the ones provided, are there any instructions that tell me where to do just that?

Also, I want to ensure that this feature works with Sharepoint Foundation correct?

Check In/Check OUt Template Publishing Error

Hi...

I am getting this error: The form template was created with a newer version of InfoPath. This form template was created by InfoPath version....

I have a site that i initially had a form published in Infopath 2007 (compatibility says "Web Browser Form (Infopath 2007). The upgraded form (same form, but added Check In/Check Out template piece) was published in Infopath 2010 Compatibility was set to Web Browser Form .

The customer's issue is they are getting the error - "The form template was created with a newer version of InfoPath. This form template was created by InfoPath version..."

How do I fix this?

I've been unable to get ES template part to work in a repeating section, per the post here. It throws DOM object errors. However, I can place multiple ES template parts in my form, but they all have the exact same time, regardless of when the form is signed.

Any suggestions?

Hi guys: We recently purchased your electronic signature template part. Followed the nicely written instructions and works fantastically! I'm now following this guide to use multiple signatures for a form. However what I'm experiencing is a blank picture control where the signature would go, after I type in my PIN and "Sign this document". Our company is using Infopath 2010, not sure if the process would need some alterations? Seems pretty straightforward, am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

Contact Selector XTP help please

I'm using the contact selector for the first time. I have the template part installed on my form and working properly. When my users submit the form to a form library, I want to use a Sharepoint workflow to grab the names in the contact selector and email them. Since it's a repeating field, how would I get the individual names to email them?

Question regarding the Digital Signatures..

Does your product work just like the built in digital Sig in infopath less the digital certificates. I want to make sure that once an area is signed it cant be modifyed unless the document is unsiged.

Also how does it handel multible sigs on one form?

"Freeze Pane" Possible with Vertical Tabs Template Part?

I just purchased the Vertical Tabs template part. Is there a way to create a form that keeps the tabs viewable while scrolling down through a long form? The form I want to create will have forms of varying length in each view. I’d like to be able to keep the vertical tabs always viewable, even when the user is scrolling down the form. That way, they can always select whatever view they would like to navigate to. Can you advise how to create this scrolling capability? In Microsoft Excel, this is accomplished with the “Freeze Pane” control. I want to do the same with my InfoPath form.
