Is it possible to lose/corrupt data in a data connection

Hi, I have an infopath form connected to a simple access database, it works brilliantly, when I had to present this to an IT operations manager he claimed something along the lines of "we discourage the use of access as data gets lost and corrupted when multiple users access it blah blah blah", (they removed Infopath and Access from all the start menus!), I didn't believe him at the time as he was talking alot of rubbish, didn't know anything about Infopath (they probably removed it so they wouldn't get questions about it).

Anyway, to the point, I just wanted to check there is no issue with lost/corrupt data using Infopath and Access, even if you have thousands of records and multiple users may use the InfoPath form at the same. (I am questioning it now as some staff reckon that their forms have gone missing, I think they are being paranoid as they always end up being in the system but thought I'd double check).

    thanks
