Close form on submit success/stay open on failure

I am new to Infopath, so this question my seem trivial.  I need a way to close a form if the submit was successful, but keep it open if it failed.  Failure could be from not filling in required data to not digitally signing the form.  There are two parts to the form - the top is for the user to fill in, sign, and submit and the bottom part is for the supervisor to review, comment, sign, and submit.  Is this possible?  Thanks.  Scott

If you want to do this without using code, then pleae follow the below steps:

    1. Open Button properties.
    2. Select Rules and click on “Add action” button.
    3. Select submit data connection and click on ok.
    4. Again click on “Add action” button.
    5. Select “Close the form” option from drop down.
    6. Select the “If changes have not been saved, prompt the users to save” check box and click on ok.
Note: In the Rules dialog box Submit action should be displayed first and then close form action will be displayed. If you want show any message popup window, that action should be displayed in between submit and close actions.

Can you guys please help me with a similar problem but the scenario is different.

I am not using Submit Options to submit the form but it is done through a code. I click the OK button and then an Auto ID is generated after which,I want my form to be closed.

I used a rule by setting the condition as " if ID is not blank close form"....but the problem here is I need to click on the OK button once to generate the ID and again to close the form. But, my requirement is I click the OK button only once after which an ID is generated and form is closed immediately after generation.

P.S: I also tried removing the rule to the OK button then,ID is not generated but form is closed.
