show/hide controls based on the value of a control bound to a same field

    Hi

I am quite new to infopath.
I am using infopath 2007 and am trying to create a drop down list which has an 'other' option. When the user selects this option, a text field pops up which was initially hidden. Both, the text field and the drop down list are bound to the same field in a SQL database which has a String datatype.
Can anyone suggest how could it be done?

    Thanks!

InfoPath 2007 introduced a new control called a "Combo Box" which is essentially the "Drop-Down List Box" control, except it adds the functionality you are talking about. Check it out and see if it will work for you.
