InfoPath Dev

Hi I am looking for a way can populate detail items of InfoPath from in a form library by meta data documents I have selected from a document library. I have a document library in sharepoint site with some meta data for each Document. Now I want after selecting some documents in the library and clicking a button (for example by a workflow) it goes to form library and create new form and fill the detail of the form with meta date of documents.

In your InfoPath form, you could show a list of the documents and then when the user selects one, use rules to populate fields in the form with the metadata from the selected document. When the user submits the form, that could create the new form. Not sure how you would do this with multiple documents and SharePoint designer.

Thanks, one more question, after getting meta data of documents and submitting the form and create the new form for example with the name (TT-0001) , I need to update one column in the main list i have got document from that. for example for each document i have added to InfoPath form, i need to update one column in the main list and put (TT-0001) also there. I like to know how is possible?

I think you'd need to use workflow for this - I'd store the List ID of the item that has been copied as a promoted property to make that easier.

Thank you very much Hilary, you mean as your answer (https://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/22414/86871.aspx) I have to merge Id Fields of documents in the repeating table rows and then promote to form library and then using split function in sharepoint designer for Enumerate Id and then update another library in sharepoint using Id for filter and ... another question relating this one, if i wanted to insert repeating table rows in InfoPath in another sharepoint list can i use this strategy using New calculated control for concatenating fields of each row and then merge that new field. can you guide me about this if you have answer similar question in another forum and InfoPath functions i have to use.
