    Error when creating New Form

I created an infopath form that was connected to a SharePoint site and worked wonderfully. I have taken that form and modified it for a different department that does not have access to our SharePoint site in the hopes that I could reconnect it to theirs. I have removed all secondary data connections they wont need and all rules/calculated fields associated with them. I can publish the form to their site fine. However, when i go to create a new form from the new SharePoint library, I get the following error: "A call to XDocument.GetDOM failed. The DataObject "ReferenceUBADepartments" does not exist. Error occurred during a call to property or method 'GetDOM'." I have saved the source files and searched the manifest to find any instance of the reference but to no avail. I have included the manifest on my post. Does anyone else have any ideas? Thank you!

Search your View files - it may be a reference there for a dropdown or conditional formatting rule.

All 3 views are identical except one is read only and they have slight differences in the signature boxes. I opened the "upgrade" file and that MAY have something referenced, but I have no idea what that is? It's not a view. Any guidance?

Can you attach the entire template? If it is too large, you can email me via the forum - I'll reply and you can attach to a reply.

Not sure if you mean the template source file or the actual template. I included the actual template in this post. Thanks for your help!

Yup, I meant the XSN. I extracted the source files, searched for ReferenceUBADepartments and can't find it either. Do you fill this form out in the web browser or in the Filler (InfoPath application)?

Re: Error when creating New Form

The intention is to use the Web Browser. SharePoint Online doesnt agree sometimes and opens InfoPath, but we don't want that. When I'm trying to create a new form in SharePoint, it is opening up the application and then giving me those errors. Ironically, when i revert to Classic SharePoint and force use the web browser, it doesnt give me those errors. Strange...

Got it! Ok, so you probably have it cached in Filler. Open InfoPath Filler on your machine and go to the New menu. Find the form. Right click and select get update or remove - remove will take it out of the cache completely, so I'd recommend that. Then try again. I do wonder if your GetUserProfileByName connection will work in the browser in SharePoint Online - last time I checked that had stopped working again.

That did it! Thank you so much! GetUSERProfileByName has worked for the form that i used originally so i dont foresee any issues with it. You're aweosme Heather. Thanks again!

Re: Error when creating New Form

So, here is what happens in Filler.... InfoPath caches form templates to make them load faster next time. But sometimes, when we are working on a form, we'll publish one with an issue that will block it from opening in Filler at all (like your template had). Then the "bad" template is stuck in the cache, and since it won't open, it won't update! Removing it from the cache lets you start over. :-)
