    passing parameters through URL

hi there, thanks in advance for any assistance. i may have the terminology wrong, if so i apologize. so i want to have 2 lists, a requests list, and a survey list. the request list will take requests and on completion will send a link via a workflow email to the new item form on the survey list(which will be a child list, tied to the parent(request) list, via the id column. is there a way to have the form on the child list, accept data through a URL and populate a field? i understand how to get the workflow to send the email, and what not, but i'm not sure how to have the infopath form or infopath web part take the data placed in the url and place it in a field. i'm able to do it with quest web parts, and they call it passing parameter. any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. thank you,

The only way I know how to do this involves code - and we can't use code with list forms..... but maybe this will help you:
