    DETAILED WORK LOG

In my line of work, we do a lot of presentations. I would like to make a very detailed tracker: •Name •Date •Presentation Name •Presentation Type I would like the tracker to be able to tally up the number of presentations done by each person yearly. The presentations have a specific set of "man-hours" so I would need those to be tallied by month, year, and bi-weekly. Is this possible in infopath?

Does someone fill this form out each time they create a presentation? Short answer is - yes, InfoPath would work well for this - but you could also just use a SharePoint list and use views for your various reports. Your data sounds like it is not very complex.... Personally? I'd probably use a SharePoint library for this - they can upload their presentation and fill out the other columns (which you would add to the library) and then you can just use views in the library for your reporting - or export to Excel for serious data crunching.

Thank you Hilary. Unfortunately, I have to do this without SharePoint. So is there a way that the data can be automatically exported to a static, working, excel spreadsheet?

Who will be tracking this data? Was the thought that each person would fill out a form when they created a presentation? Where would they submit the data to? If you aren't going to use SharePoint, maybe you could have the form set up to submit to a SQL or an Access DB? I mean, the short answer to your question as to whether IP can be used to track this data is "yes" - but so could Excel or any number of other options....
