Emailed Form To Update SharePoint List

    Hi all,

I'm trying to see if it's possible to achieve all of the following. When I search for answers, I can't seem to find a solution that fits all the requirements.

I'm trying to create a form that will be emailed via Outlook and:

    Gather dates/notes from each recipient

Would not require the recipient to need Infopath installed on their computer

Clicking a submit button would transmit the data via email and update a SharePoint list

The main thing is Infopath is not installed on a lot of the computers at my office. Next is that a lot of the people are not very technically capable. I just want to gather data. Is this possible or will a client-side installation be necessary for this sort of thing? I am using InfoPath/SharePoint 2010.

    Best,

    Joel

    Hi Joel,

Unfortunately, InfoPath is required for all computers if you are working with Filler Forms. What I would recommend is publishing the forms to SharePoint so users can access and open these forms via Internet Explorer. If by any chance you'll encounter issues with sending email via browser forms, I would also recommend using SharePoint Designer workflows for triggering an email action.
