very newbie question - form extension suppoed to be

     Hi all,

    We use InfoPath 2010.

The form is set up to send several users;  users receive it in their mailbox and the form extension is xsn .

Is this right extension with InfoPath form when users receive it in their mailbox?

    Thank you.

Hi - templates - the actual template that you design in InfoPath for other people to fill out - are .xsn files. When you fill out a form and save the data, the extension for the data is .xml. Here's a link that may help - don't worry that it says it is for IP 2003, the same principal applies. :)

     Hilary,

Thanks for your help and link.

When our users fill out the form and click "submit" which are sent to several users. (we do not have sharepoint)

When these users receive it, the file extension is xsn.  Are these right?  Where are xml file located?

    Thank you.

If the form template is set to include the template on submit, yes, I'd expect it to include the XSN.

     Hi Hilary,

    Thanks for your quick response.

Sometimes, when users receive thee forms and open xsn form in outlook, users get "

The form template associated with this form cannot be found.  It is not on your computer and the form does not specify a location from which to retrieve it.

To fix this problem, ask the form author to provide the location of the form template of update the form."

How do we fix this error?

Thank you for your sharing and help.

Can you walk through the email submit connection for your form template and see if it is set to include the template with the email?
