Web form changes position or scrolls up when user selects field

I have a web enabled InfoPath 2010 form. When the user selects a radio button towards the bottom of the form it queries the server and then scrolls all the way to the top of the page. Why is this? Is there anything that can be done to keep the form from automatically scrolling or changing the user's location on the page?

There is likely some focus issue that is occurring here.  It's difficult to debug these sort of things in a generic fashion, but I can offer some ideas that hopefully one of which may work for you.

    1. For each option button, go into the properties and set the browser form tab to Never.  This will remove postbacks.
    2. For each control, set the tab index to -1
    3. Delete your option button control and reinsert it on the form
    4. Try recreating your view from scratch and publish often to test which part of it is broken (last resort option)

    Good luck!

If a codebehind-ing is an option, one can set a hidden textbox as a bookmark (anchor in terms of HTML) and in codebehind Loading Event (in Infopath Designer on Ribbon click the button Loading Event under Developer tab) handler use SelectNode or SelectText to jump to this hidden textbox control on form loading
