How to return multiple associate values based on single value selection in drop down ?

    Hello Folks,

Targe technology: InfoPath (Client based not browser) and SharePoint 2007.

Is there any way in InfoPath to return multiple values based on selection of drop down. e.g. If Student Class is configured in Drop\down1, Can i return its respective Student Name in another drop down? so, if i select value "1st" in dropdown1 then A & B student name should return in another dropdown and If i select  "3rd", it should display D,E,F in dropdown2

Pls. note: Student Class should be unique in dropdown1.

    Student Class Student Name
    1st A
    1st B
    2nd C
    3rd D
    3rd E
    3rd F
    4th G

    Thanks,
    Chintan

    Hi,

The term you're looking for is called "cascading dropdowns". A quick Google search will yield some tutorials and examples, but here's a link from Anson:

    Hope this helps!

    Hello ErnestoM,

Thanks for your reply and providing useful link. I want to extend my issue lit. bit further. Pls. look to my below 2 list.

Lets put Student Name in dropdown1 and Teachers in dropdown2. If we select Student Name in dropdown1, all teachers teaching to this student should appear in dropdown2 making Student Class as primary/foreign key between both the list. Is it feasbile to extend this to multiple list ?

    List1:

    Student Class Student Name
    1st A
    1st B
    2nd C
    3rd D
    3rd E
    3rd F
    4th G

    List2:

    Student Class Teacher
    1st Jony
    1st Angela
    2nd Bill
    3rd Nisha
    3rd Angela
    3rd Jony
    4th Jony

    Thanks,
    Chintan
