    List Mapping

InfoPath 2007 I am publishing this Form on my SharePoint 2010 sandbox.

I am new to Infopath and have a question my boss wants resolved today, if possible..

I have a drop down box/field called Project Manangement which has 3 initiatives(selections), People, Animals, Other, I have a 2nd drop down box called Project Mangers and they are in charge of each of these initiatives.

Joe and Jennifer is in Charge of People, Misty and Maxx are in charge of Animals and Derek and Brandi are in charge of other.  I want to be able to choose People from Project Management and have the drop down box for Project Managers only give me a choice of Joe and Misty not all the whole list of PMs.  How can I do this?

I thought to create a custom list in SharePoint and have it pull into the drop down box properties but having difficulties in getting it to work right, please advise.

    Hi Shelly,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Have you tried using the out-of-box filtering? You will need to create a secondary XML file that defines which PMs can do which Initiatives. See Greg's article on how to do this: http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/greg/archive/2005/07/14/Create-a-Repeating-Cascading-List-from-a-Hierarchical-Data-Source.aspx

    Best of luck!
