Submit to DB via Web Service

    hi all,

I have a form which I want to use to submit data entry info to a database table. When I attempt this I am unable to select "Database" from the submit options menu as well as from any Rule.

    Example:
The user is filling in a Repeating Table which I would like to submit to a database table. I don't want the information being stored to be viewed again by this particular form. Basically this portion of the form is being used for data entry only.

Is it possible to submit the data from the Repeating Table to a Web Service and then pass the data on to a database?

    PS

I created the form from a data connection which is also populating other info on the form.

    Hi MdSmitty,
Yes, check out the eval version of our Database Accelerator. It allows you to do this without writing any code. It's in Free Downloads.

    Patrick,
How would the Database Accelerator run on XP Pro. I can't find the Application Pools in Internet Information...I found it on 2003 but not on XP. Is there a different set-up on XP? If you have a different set of set-up instructions for XP please let me know where I can locate them.

    Thanks

    Hi again Smitty,
You need to install IIS on the box. I know you can do this on WinXP Pro, but I forget the details. I'll ask Jim to respond and make sure to get the setup.txt fixed tonight. Thanks for the feedback!

With XP using IIS5.x, use the Application Protection option on the 'Home Directory' or 'Directory' tab in the website properties pages. If you configure for "Low (IIS Process)", the SYSTEM account is used, and you will need to give the SYSTEM account database access (assuming the DB is on the same machine).
