Hi,

I have master list called "Products"  

ID	ProductName
1	xxxxxx
2	yyyyyy
3	zzzzzz

and i have another list called "Access Control" 

ID	UserName	Products
1	John	xxxxxx;yyyyyy
2	Ebi	xxxxxx;zzzzzz
3	Mike	yyyyyy;zzzzzz
4	Jim	All Products

1.       Whenever the user logged in , The InfoPath dropdown populate the product names against the user which is in the “Access Control List”for example,

      1.       If I logged in as “John” the dropdown has to populate the products against john

 

xxxxxx

yyyyyy

 

2.    If I logged in as “Ebi” the dropdown has to populate the products against Ebi  

xxxxxx

zzzzzz

 

3.       If I logged in as “Jim” the dropdown has to populate all the products 

xxxxxx

yyyyyy

zzzzzzz

Hi Thirumurugan,

I understand you would like to have cascading dropdown approach for the items on your form based on the current user. Although the Cascading Dropdowns in InfoPath video tutorial we have is a bit different, the approach for filtering data is quite similar to what you need. The main idea here is to associate each user with an item, so you might need to have a list similar to this:

ID	UserName	Products
1	John	xxxxxx
2	John	yyyyyy
3	Ebi	xxxxxx
4	Ebi	zzzzzz
5	Mike	yyyyyy
6	Mike	zzzzzz
7	Jim	xxxxxx
8	Jim	yyyyyy
9	Jim	zzzzzz

You can also use a different list for associating user privileges (depending on the user's role or department) to make your form more dynamic. Hope this helps.
