Hi,
I'm currently creating an approval form in IP for use on sharepoint server. It's an approval form for purchases. I have set the form up with conditonally displayed sections - a new section is displayed each time a step of the process is completed.
Currently the form works like this:
- Submitter fills out the purchase request form and submits. Form is saved to a sharepoint form library and the selected Approver is sent an email.
- A couple of rules triggers a hidden field and displays the next section.
- The selected approver then reopens the form and adds a comment, the date, and either approves or rejects using the approval section. This resubmits the form.
- There are also further steps to the process, where other users must re-open, edit and re-submit the form.
My question is - when a 2nd, 3rd, 4th user opens up the form and edits the newly appeared section and clicks approve - this resubmits the form. Is there any way to keep the form from duplicating itself in the form library, without enabling overwrite? If i use a unique identifer for the filname in the data connection, it duplicates. If i have the filename static and enable overwrite, then there is a good chance that 2 seperate forms could have the same filename and one would over write the other.
Thank you anyone for any help with my issue.
Matt
