Submit InfoPath form to SharePoint Library, Start Workflow, Missing Requestor's Comments

I have created a web-based InfoPath form and saved it to a SharePoint library. Users can fill out the form and submit it to the SharePoint library. An approval workflow is automatically run when the item is created in the SharePoint library. The workflow sends the form to a person entered on the form for approval. There is also a spot on the form for the requester to enter comments before submitting and starting the workflow. However, when the workflow begins, there are no comments loaded into the "consolidated comments" variable at the start. I would like the requester's submission comments to be added to the consolidated comments at the start of the approval workflow. It looks like this:

Approval started by John Doe on 6/26/2014 9:28 AM

    Comment:

I would like to put the comments entered on the form when submitted to be shown after the "Comment:" part of the consolidated comments variable. How can I do this?

I thought I found the answer to my question here: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-IE/sharepoint2010general/thread/0a0a48b8-7903-4479-89bb-56f7bfce5fa7 but this doesn't seem to be what I am looking for, or maybe I just don't understand.

I am using InfoPath 2010 and SharePoint Designer 2010. Thanks for the help!
