When you create Infopath fOrm fROm an exisitng list (or for a list, creating a new list from Infopath) and then publish them to a list, then 2 form pages are created:
- Edit Form page editIFS.aspx in addition to originally default EditForm.aspx
- Display Form page displayIFS.aspx in addition to originally default DispForm.aspx
which yoг сan set as default edit and/or display form pages for editing and displaying, respectively.
You can navigate to any of these aspx pages and edit them, though they may be replaced if you publish to this list from Infopath.
Otherwise, you can go in SPD 2010 (Sharepoint Designer) to a list and create a page of type Display, Edit or New. Delete their content and insert "Infopath Form Web Part"
The point is that you already always have 2 different pages which you can further customize separately
Well, the point is that Infopath is tool for creating forms but not pages
(which can be used in pages)
Another variant is to create 2 views of an Infopath list form, naming them, for ex., as: "Display View" and "Edit View" and respectively setting the "Diplay View" to be the default view for rendering in displayIFS.aspx and "Edit View" in editIFS.aspx
In browser navigate to a list --> on ribbon click List (under "List Tools" --> expand drop-down list of "Modify Form Web Parts" (on the top to the right of "Customize (Infopath) Form") --> Default Display Form --> on design surface click "Infopath Form Design Menu" down-arrow button in the right top corner of "Infopath Form Web Part"--> choose "Edit Web Part" amongst choices --> under Views drop-down list choose "Display View" --> click "Stop Editing"
