How to use value of field as field name to get value without eval function??

Subject sounds a bit confusing so let me explain:

Say I have five fields in my form named "fieldName, field1, field2, field3, fieldValue"

For example, I want to be able to type "field1" into the "fieldName" field and get the value of field1 and display it in fieldValue

and hence if I type "field3" into "fieldName", I'd display the value of "field3" in "fieldValue"

I know you can do this using an eval function however eval functions are not compatible with web browser forms

    XPath code for fieldValue: xdMath:Eval(.., concat("my:", string(/my:myFields/my:fieldName)))

Is there any other way of doing this that is compatible with web browser forms?
