Codeless update sharePoint lists from repeating sections in InfoPath 2013

    Hi everyone,

I am trying to update a 2013 sharepoint list from an Infopath form with repeating section.

I followed several posts including many from this forum but while I am now able to add an item to a list (Using the CAML method) I am stuck in trying to update the elements.

Basically I am trying to have a repeating section with elements selected from a Sharepoint List (So I created a receive connection that provides me the content) and I now want to submit those elements to a second Sharepoint List (and add or update the items depending on if the items already exists).

I am looking for a codeless solution since I've been asked to do it only with Infopath and Designer.

Is there a way to get the information from a repeating section in a Workflow ? Can this be done with a rule ? I have browsed dozens of articles but have to found a codeless working solution so far.

Thanks in advance for any help, I will be glad to make a complete tutorial of the case study if such a codeless solution can be found.

    Hi Marc,

In order to update list items from a SharePoint list, of course you'd need to query the items first. After querying, if you have a rule which generates a GUID for the list item, you would need to disable this if the item/s already have an existing GUID and specify it to use that particular GUID. Next, change the CAML CMD to "Update" instead of New at the CAML mapping or CAML data connection before submitting the data. Hope this helps.
