InfoPath concatenates Sharepoint Multi-Check Box into 1 line

There are 2 lists involved here: 1. SharePoint Custom List (Named "Firm Profiles"). This list used the default SharePoint 2010 load form and is the source of record for the majority of our business and we store all data that relates to our customers in this list. 2. SharePoint Custom List (Named "Checklists"). This list uses InfoPath (as seen above) and does a look-up based on a drop down field in the form named "Firms". This field pulls all the firm names from "Firm Profiles" The way this works is a user Adds a new item to "Checklists" and in the InfoPath form they choose their Firm from the drop down. Once they pick that value, it auto populates all of the fields in the form whether this be Yes/No, Single Text, Multi-Text, etc. All of those fields pull in with no issue but I am having an issue with fields like the one listed in the screenshot above where in the Firm Profile, there can be more than one box checked. In the instance above, the 7 check boxes that are True in the Firm Profile, roll into 1 check box in the InfoPath form when the look-up is done. What I'd like to happen is either get those 7 options listed in check box format, Bullet format where the value = True or Numbered format where the value = True. Screenshots attached... Thoughts?

    Hi Jack,

It has to do with the data source schema for the first list. In your InfoPath form, go to data and fields and click on the dropdown next to Main and select the "Firm Profiles" data connection. Expand the data fields. Probably it's not showing a repeating structure and therefore you can't copy the values over correctly. Or, someone is using a concat formula. At any rate, what you want to do is doable but it's a bit tricky to get the filtering right and to copy the values correctly. You could use default values or you could insert the items into your new form. The key thing is that the "Checklists" form should not be using a multi-select but rather you should have a repeating table with default value rows equal to the number of items and default values showing them. You'll use a separate column for the checkbox and you can add a default value to that which automatically checks the row if the item in the "Firm Profiles" list is checked.

We can show you how to do this in less than an hour, but it's more involved than a simple forum reply. You can purchase a support pack from Qdabra's web site under support.

Otherwise, spend some more time refactoring the multi-select and post again with more questions. We'll be here for ya.

Patrick, Thank you so much for the help!! I implemented the suggestions you mentioned and I feel like I am so close to getting this!! I have the choices listed, pulling from the 2nd Data Source but when I populate the form it always populates the first value whether it's checked or not in the Firm Profile... Thoughts???
