    Sudden Form Performance Degradation..

I have developed a SharePoint site as a simple Helpdesk system for our IT department, in SharePoint2010.

The forms used have quite a few fields, so decided to use InfoPath to replace the default SharePoint form, all was going well, until the list associated to the form got to around 10000 items.. Suddenly the form which originally took 2-3 seconds to load now takes upto 10secs to load?! ( I’ve turned throttling off for this site, so the lists perform OK on their own )

The form itself pretty simple, small <20 item dropdowns, couple of people pickers, and a number of text fields… However, there is a filed which is ‘currently’ a linked lookup to the original ‘ticket’ raised by the User (I'm guessing this is the cause.)…. If I change this Control from the lookup to a plain text field, I get the underlying ID of the source list, not the Call Reference number I had displayed in the lookup field.…

So my question is, is there a way to display a lookup field form another list as a text field, not as the lookup but retain the display value not the lookup list ID?!

Or can I construct a URL to display on the form that has the Display value of the lookup and links back to the source list via the ID… this field should be read-only anyway…?!

    Thanks in advance..

    Cheers

    Re: Sudden Form Performance Degradation..

To answer my own query the issue was resolved by editing the Data Connection to the other list, removing the Automatically retrieve data setting..

    Thanks anyway!
