Hi,

Im working on an IP form for my team of five (5) Analysts. Each one can work a part of the request and have their own Status for their progress. Then on the form I inserted a Final Status field that should change accordingly. What rules should I implement so Final Status field changes properly.

I attached a screenshot of the section of my form.

The Status fields contains the following options as drop down menus:

Assigned
In Progress
On Hold
Pending
Completed

The Final Status field should change only from In Progress or Completed.

One way you could do it is as follows:

On your status drop down value fields.

Your display name values are:

Assigned
In Progress
On Hold
Pending
Completed

Yet each display name option is assigned a different numeric value i.e.1,2,3,4,5

Have a hidden field i.e. StatusScore whose default value is StatusField1+StatusField2+StatusField3+StatusField4+StatusField5

On your Final Status field you have 3 rules.

Condition StatusScore = 0 Set Final Status field Value to Not Started
Condition StatusScore not equal 25 set final status field value to In Progress
Condition StatusScore equal 25 set final status field value to Complete

Tick the box don't run remaining rules if this condition is met on the rules

Thanks for the quick response. I follow your instructions exactly as provided. StatusScore field works perfectly with the calculations, however Final Status field does not change according to the rules. It stays blank no matter what we select on the Status fields.

Tried to change the format of StatusScore from text to numerical however Final Status remains blank. 

Any advise?

 Put the hidden field on the form to see the math in action.

Each rule on the FinalStatus field will need the box ticked to not run past the rule if correct. They are 3 separate rules, not 3 conditions attached to one rule.
