I have an IP2003 form with a repeating table with 3 fields they hold a persons name, phone number and email address. In another form I would like to have a Drop down list box to select the name and then have two other fields filled in with the phone number and email address. I have this working in a IP2003 form where all three fileds that are being filled in are Drop down list boxes. I would prefer, in the new form, that the phone and email fields are text boxes but it is not necessary. I decided to try a test and I cannot get it to work. Here is the XPath for the one that works: xdXDocument:GetDOM("RSM List")/ns1:myFields/ns1:group1/ns1:group2/ns1:field3[../ns1:field1 = xdXDocument:get-DOM()/my:myFields/my:groupWorksheetSection/my:groupWorksheet/my:rSMName] and here is the one that doesn't: xdXDocument:GetDOM("RSM List")/ns1:myFields/ns1:group1/ns1:group2/ns1:field3[../ns1:field1 = xdXDocument:get-DOM()/my:myFields/my:rSMName]. The only difference is how many levels down the "rSMName" field is. How can I make this work? P.S. how do you get this message box to display paragraph breaks when you post? 10-08-2013 06:50 PM In reply to Hilary Stoupa Joined on 06-20-2008 Posts 13,297 Re: How to make a Dropdown list fill in multiple fields Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Hi -Sorry about the paragraph breaks - I think the forum doesn't play nicely with all browsers. So - when you say "doesn't work" - what do you mean? No value is returned to the field with the formula? Is the XPath valid when you check it in the formula box? Is the my:rSMName field populated? Are you 100% sure of the value of it? Reply Contact Hi Hilary thanks for the response. You're right, the forum doesn't like Chrome but it does IE10. I did find a typo in the XPath I was using. I don't work with code like that except when using InfoPath so it was a rookie mistake. Thanks Again Page 1 of 1 (3 items) Copyright © 2003-2019 Qdabra Software. Hi -
Sorry about the paragraph breaks - I think the forum doesn't play nicely with all browsers.
So - when you say "doesn't work" - what do you mean? No value is returned to the field with the formula? Is the XPath valid when you check it in the formula box? Is the my:rSMName field populated? Are you 100% sure of the value of it?
Hi Hilary thanks for the response.
You're right, the forum doesn't like Chrome but it does IE10.
I did find a typo in the XPath I was using. I don't work with code like that except when using InfoPath so it was a rookie mistake.
Thanks Again
