I have an InfoPath 2007 form (not browser enabled). I have a data connection that retreives the ID numbers from the SharePoint library where the form is published. The ID numbers aren't retrieved when the form is opened, I have a custom submit button with rules set up to retrieve the ID's when clicked before submitting the form. The ID number is drawn into a field in the form and then used to form part of the file name when a form is submitted.
Recently it has been brought to my attention that when some users submit forms, instead of following along in sequence, the ID number that comes through is 1. If they then enter another form, it follows sequentially from where it should. So for example if our library has 500 entries and they submit two new entries the first will have ID No 1 and the second will be ID No 501. The rest of their entries that day will be numbered correctly but then the next day their first entry will be back to No 1.
I'm at a loss as to why this is occurring, we have been using this form/ library for over 12 months and this issue has only just begun in the past few weeks. As we rely on the unique numbers in our form titles to prevent forms accidentally being saved over I need to resolve this issue ASAP. If anyone is able to offer any guidance it would be much appreciated.
