Changing field properties of already promoted fields

    Hello all,

Just getting my IP feet wet, and am finding that SharePoint doesn't necessarily like you changing promoted fields.

I have two fields on a form that's already been published that I wanted to change.

I change them on the InfoPath form, save and publish, but on SharePoint, the published form remains unchanged.

Will I have to delete the promoted fields and recreate them if I want the changes to carry over?

After republishing, do the new promoted properties show up as columns? If so, are they blank or do they show data?

Also, try playing around with the SharePoint view. You might be able to hide the old promoted properties and show the new ones.

Yes- but as promoted fields, they showed up as columns anyway. If you're asking if they add an additional (duplicate) column, they do not. They do show data, they're not blank. I just can't get the changed properties to carry over to the re-published form.

I'll definitely look at the views- but in looking at some of the past forms in our environment, every view still shows the promoted fields as columns.

As a test, I made a change to a non-promoted field, then promoted it. The field shows up as an available column, but the form itself does not reflect the property change.

I don't know if this is the right way, but so far, it's the only thing that's worked.

Rather than change the property of the field on the form itself, I deleted it on the form (not from my fields list). Then, I added the field type I desired, and re-bound it to the correct field on my list and republished.

Now, when I publish the form, my changes appear.

    Live and learn, I guess!

I'm having a problem where, after initially publishing/connecting my form to a form library on SharePoint, I deleted one of the columns/fields from SharePoint. I then re-added a column on SharePoint and want to tell the form to point to this new column, but I can't seem to find a way to do that. This sound like it might be helpful but I can't tell how to do the rebinding part you mention:

    Any advice?
