I have a workflow to send an email based on a completion stage being reached. When I constructed the body of the email I added in the fields in the look up which is the approval status and the start and end date.

What I get when the email arrives is:

Your approval status is 0;#Approved for the 2 or more beginning 9/6/2013 12:00:00 AM through 9/7/2013 12:00:00 AM

A couple things the 0,# is added to the drop down field value not sure why?

And also my start and end dates are dates only on the infopath form yet the time is being added. Perhaps this has to do with the form being uploaded to a sharepoint library and the workflow is reading from the sharepoint column which is adding time for some reason?

How can I remove the 0,# and only show the date not the time.

Okay solved the 0,# issue there were two options in the current item dropdown in the workflow both named approval status, using the other one it returns correctly. I'm guess the first one is the value field on the dropdown?

So just the date issue remains.

Check the data type in your form. Is it a date-time? If so, maybe you can change it to just a date.

Did some more searching and found the below that confirms the problem with a workaround, in case anyone reaches this post later on.
