    Repeating Section Missing?

Hi, very much a self thought newbie with InfoPath so please be gentle! I have a custom form setup in SharePoint. It's a form for a list to submit requests to my team. It's been heavily customized with rules and formatting so I'd prefer to make changes rather than restarting. The problem is I'd like to add a repeating section but the options seem to be missing. The idea would be to replace a catch-all comments box field with a section of repeating fields. I've only learned of this recently so never implemented it in the first place. Is there any way of changing the form to add this section or do I need to start over again? Thanks

Unfortunately, this is a limit of list based forms. I found this blog post that includes some screen shots comparing the controls between a standard form and a list form: http://blogs.technet.com/b/meamcs/archive/2011/09/18/infopath-forms-in-sharepoint-2010-document-based-and-list-based-forms-step-by-step-samples-and-comparison-part2.aspx

If you do start over with a form that will submit to a library, you'll want to understand that the data will then be in the library and not a list - there is no out of the box way to submit data to a SharePoint List from an InfoPath form that is not a list form (the company I work for, Qdabra, sells a tool called qRules that can add this feature to your form, but I wanted to make sure it was clear that given built-in InfoPath functionality, you won't be able to submit to your list from your form). You can promote field data from your form to your library, so that may not be an issue for you, aside from the pain of having to rebuild from scratch.

Oh, and one other thing - I find the time consuming part of a form is deciding on the design, figuring out the layout and rules and so forth. Re-creating an already designed form doesn't take nearly as long as you'd think - it is a bit dull, but you'll be surprised how quickly you can do it since you already know what rules / logic / etc. you need.
