Hello everyone,

Following the instructions from a number of forum posts, I've been able to get my InfoPath form to redirect to a blank form after submitting to a SharePoint Form Library.  I've also been able to redirect to a completely unrelated site on another server within our network.

The problem I'm having is that no matter what I do, it only works when a user submits the form for the first time.  If they open it for editing and resubmit it, the redirection doesn't happen.  I don't get an error or anything, it just either goes back to the AllItems view or returns to the existing form (the one just resubmitted).

Here's a little background as well as what I've tried:

• Users click a link that takes them to a blank, browser-enabled form.
• Instead of the following default link:
• http://sharepoint/sites/department/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XsnLocation=http://sharepoint/sites/department/formlibrary/Forms/template.xsn&SaveLocation=http%3A%2F%2Fsharepoint%2Fsites%2Fdepartment%2Fformlibrary&Source=http%3A%2F%2Fsharepoint%2Fsites%2Fdepartment%2Fformlibrary%2FForms%2FAllItems%2Easpx&DefaultItemOpen=1

• I changed it to the following so that a blank form would open upon submitting:
• http://sharepoint/sites/department/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XsnLocation=http%3a%2f%2fsharepoint%2fsites%2fdepartment%2fformlibrary%2fForms%2ftemplate.xsn&SaveLocation=http%3a%2f%2fsharepoint%2fsites%2fdepartment%2fformlibrary&Source=http%3A%2F%2Fsharepoint%2Fsites%2Fdepartment%2F%5Flayouts%2FFormServer.aspx%3FXsnLocation=http%3A%2F%2Fsharepoint%2Fsites%2Fdepartment%2Fformlibrary%2FForms%2Ftemplate.xsn%26SaveLocation=http%3A%2F%2Fsharepoint%2Fsites%2Fdepartment%2Fformlibrary%26DefaultItemOpen=1&DefaultItemOpen=1

• They fill it out, click submit, and a workflow starts which sends email notices for approval.  The link included in the email is below, again designed to open a blank form after submitting.

• The recipient clicks the link, the form opens, he or she checks a box giving approval, and clicks the submit button.

The form submits correctly but redirection never happens.

I've tried redirecting to another page using the info on this blog - http://www.sharepoint-tips.com/2007/06/solving-infopath-error-following.html - but I get the same result.

Does anyone have any ideas about what could be happening here and how I might resolve this?  I don't have access to the 12 hive so anything involving that isn't an option, unfortunately.

Hi CalmKz,

When the user opens a form for the first time, it has the SaveLocation parameter embedded in the URL. Opening an existing form, the URL will not have this because the form remembers it's save location. That might be related to issue that you are having. I think changing the Source parameter should do the trick, but looks like you are not getting the URLs to do the needful...

Are you using Content Types or regular form library?
