    Refresh InfoPath Form

Is there a way to refresh an InfoPath form programmatically, performing the same action as the Refresh button without making the user click another button?

We have a form that is submitted and starts an approval workflow.  When each approver opens the form to review and approve, they must update information on the form, but they must also open the associated task form to approve/reject the task for their portion of the approval process.  The main form checks for completion of the associated task and does not allow the Save button to work until the task has been completed.  However, the main form does not refresh when the task form closes leaving the task status fields unchanged and Save button blocked.  Our current solution is to add a refresh button to the main form, which works fine but is a lame solution.

    Hi CCroder,

We have done a bunch of webinars on integrating InfoPath forms with the Tasks list. Last one was June 28th.

We provided an XML Template Part that integrated the InfoPath form with the tasks list.

I'm confused by your scenario. You seem to have two forms. Why is that? Certainly the main form won't know to refresh if the task form closes. You would need to have a button to do that (or code that links the forms together).  In other words, Refresh button is the solution given your architecture.

But, that's the problem. You should not have two forms. You should be approving or rejecting tasks from within the Main form. There shouldn't be a separate tasks form.

I'm helping another forum poster tomorrow with this solution. Let me know if you would like some online help.

    Best,
