    Display field from secondary list in browser

    SharePoint 2010. I have 2 Lists.

    I have the following;

    List A with Employes details listed,

    List B with Manager details listed.

    In both lists i have [Manager_id] Which can be used to join the 2 lists. In List B i have column called [Qualified], which contains "Yes/No".

    I want to display this [Qualified] column in my infopath form, from the secondary source (List B). However, i cant seem to be able to pull through this data - it always displays empty.

    I did manage to get this working, using a repeating section, but it doesnt display the values when published to the browser.

     Can anyone advise/help? Im sure this should be straightforward?

    Thanks so much.

    What do you mean when you say you want to display the [Qualified] value in the form? In what context? Are you displaying info about a single employee or several?

    Thanks for your reply. I am wanting to return the value from a single record, for a single employee. (The whole form will show reciords for a single employee only).

     This field will show if a given record (the employee) has a [Qualified] manager.  Note that the user will not be editing this field, it is for read only.

    Also, i would like to use this field in a Rule.  So, when the field [Qualified] = "No" then carry out an action.

    Thanks

     If I understand correctly you are pulling data from a SP list to populate the form, a single record or line item. ultimately is a filtered result. adding the lists as data sources you should be able to drag and drop them on the form and create a filtered return.

    If you are looking to merge the 2 data sources I believe you may have to write the data to another (third) repeating table. I am not sure of any other way.

    The Book "InfoPath with SharePoint 2010" chptr 17 has the code to pull data from a SP list and load another repeating table. I believe even if you only want one record, from 2 data sources you could accomplish this with the code. I will attach the xsn and code for you to review. hopefully it will help you.

    Kind regards,
