I would like to get the created date of the  newest item added to a sharepoint list. 

 I cannot use infopath max() function with dates.  I tried to convert the Created date to a number by converting created column to a custom sharePoint calculated column but apparently one cannot retreive calculated sharepoint columns in infopath so that was moot effort.

 Is it possible to retreive the most recent, created date of an item in a sharepoint list into infopath textbox control?

Might be easier to set a field in your form as created and set it with today() on submit. Then Set your secondary data connection to sort by field you created and descending. Then you can place that field on the canvas and it should show the newest date.

 I (obviously) didn't think of that.  I had it in my head that I should use only the libraries "Created" date.
