Displaying an individual list item's field variable on an info path form.

Hello, I am trying to send out an infopath form gets information from a user through email. What I am trying to do is add a field from the list to correspond with the user it gets sent to. The list has both a user field and the field im trying to display (siteName.) Ive tried multiple ways of doing this but none has given me the exact solution I want. I tried dragging the field (siteName) from the seconday list and dropping it onto the infopath form. This however places every list item into the form when I just want the one that corresponds with the user. Ive tried to filter based off this repeating table but all the control options are greyed out. Is there any other ways of doing this? Ive been searching for days

I'm not sure how it works in emails. I do all my work in SharePoint Web Part forms, yet I would think the principle remains the same.

In infopath have a connection to your data source (SharePoint list). This assumes your email is connected to the network.

My list has Title (single line of text) and Username fields (person/group)

In my test that I've just set up I have a field called current user and another field called Filtered Site.

On my field called Filterd Site, I have the following:

Secondary Connection (SP List) Highlight Title (the datafields one)

Filter Data = Display Name (Secondary Contection - SP List - datafields UserName) is equal to CurrentUser (Main Data Connection).

For this I have assumed a user has only 1 site available.
