I am trying to submit a 2010 browser based form to an external BCS list on my SharePoint site. When I try to submit I receive the following error. "Errors occurred submitting to list: Bad parameter passed to Web Server Extensions.  Check the information you entered and try again." Is submitting to an external list supported in qrules or do I need to look at an alternative. If it is supported any help would be appreciated.

Looks like this won't work due to a SharePoint limitation. Calling the Web Service to update the list doesn't work. We would have to call the SharePoint object model. Because qRules is meant to be installed in both browser and client forms, we chose the Web service method, which works for standard lists but does not work for BCS enabled lists. We have logged a feature request for the next version of qRules to look at adding OM calls for browser-only forms so that this can be done. Unfortunately, it looks impossible from the rich client. However, Qdabra does provide a Web Service (DBXL) that can update SQL from a rich client form (and no BCS config needed! :))

Let us know if you would like to be a beta tester for this new feature. ETA would be June timeframe.

No problem I got around it by submitting to a custom list then using a workflow to move it to the BCS enabled list. I would definitely like to try out the new feature when it becomes available.

Did this get added? I am trialing the qdabra software and getting the "Bad parameter passed to Web Server Extensions. Check the information you entered and try again." error when trying to write to a External Item List. Is there another way to submit a form to sql and a library?

This feature has not been added to qRules, no.
