    Converting check box to dropdown

Question about the behavior of a checkbox's data when converting it to a dropdown field using "Change Control". After doing this, there are 5 (yes, 5!) choices in the dropdown: Select (understandable), True, False, 0, and 1. Now, why is there both True and False, as well as 0 and 1? Isn't this redundant? Is this needed when submitting to SharePoint? Initially I just deleted the 0 and 1 thinking those were not needed, but if they are required as part of SharePoint's "Yes/No" datatype underneath the hood then should I leave these in? Any insight into this would be appreciated.

Hi AlexK and thanks for the interesting question.

To be honest, I never knew that InfoPath did this. It seems a bit silly, but it's probably not totally harebrained. InfoPath just doesn't know whether you are using 0/1 or false/true so it provides both. Certainly, I would think you can delete the 0/1 and just use the false/true. But, depends on the logic in your form. The 0/1 values may be useful if you are running calculations like Sum, etc.

If you aren't don't calcs, just delete the 0/1 and go with false/true.
