    Alternate Access Mapping

    Hi,

     I have an InfoPath form that I published to a SharePoint site.

    At the save button I put the following code:

       Dim FileSubmitConnection As FileSubmitConnection = DataConnections("SharePoint Library Submit")

       FileSubmitConnection.FolderUrl = http://<ip address>/<site name>/

       FileSubmitConnection.Execute()

    My colleague already set the alternate access mapping to http://<portal_name>/  at the SharePoint Central Admin.

    Usually the users would open the portal using the ip address instead of the portal name.

    The other day one of the user open the portal using http://<portal_name>/. When the user click the save button at the form, the following error message appear:

       There has been an error while loading the form. A required resource could not be downloaded. To try to resume the download, refresh the page.

    Could someone kindly advice me on this matter.

    Really appreciate if I could get faster reply.

    Thanks and have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Tasnim

    Hello Tasnim,

    Ensure that you have your <portal_name> listed as an entry in the Hosts file on the server and that it is added to DNS. Also sometimes publishing to a sub-site can cause issues. Republish the form to the top level site and see if it throws the same error. Please let us know the outcome. Thanks.

    Re: Alternate Access Mapping

    Dear Janice,

     When I publish the form, I follow the steps below:

    1. File > Publish
    2. Select publish the form template to SharePoint server
    3. Enter the SharePoint location
    4. Check enable this form to be filled out by using browser
    5. Save the form to a specific location
    6. Publish

    Then I upload the saved template at SharePoint Central Administration [Application Management > InfoPath Forms Services > Manage Form Template]. Upon the completion the upload, I activate it to the specified IP address.

    What I did was publishing to site or sub-site? According to my colleague, I published to site.

    By the way, the <portal_name> is not listed in the Host file. I already add it to the Host file. Later will update you the outcome.

    Thanks and have a nice day.

     Best Regards,

    Tasnim

    Hi, I'm having exactly the same problem and I'm new to Infopath, tough I have experience in Sharepoint 2010. Have you reach a solution for this? Thank you, Luís
