    Submitting / Updating Repeating Rows

    Hello,

I have a form that submits to a SharePoint Library with promoted fields.

I have another form with a data connection to retrieve and display the information of those forms.

I format that retrieved data in to a repeating section. I would now like to be able to update a field of the retrieved information and write this back to the orginal form.

This would require some update/save/submit on the secondary data connection as the anything OTB is targeted at the open form.

    Any guidance/help/examples welcome.....

    Thanks

Interesting. So, the promoted fields - are they writable from SharePoint? You may be able to get at them that way - using the UpdateListItems method of the Lists web service.

This was my thought and I looked in to using it but couldn't get my head around the parameters. The other problem was linking that operation to that row. Do you have any working examples of using that web service?

Here's an outline someone posted on this forum a while back: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/12872/45420.aspx

    Here's a blog post: http://jaliyaudagedara.blogspot.com/2011/03/submitting-data-to-sharepoint-2010-list.html

I've not tried to update column in a form library before, I don't think - I have a tool I use to test my CAML queries (U2U) - I'll try to check this out later today to see if the CAML approach will work on your form library.
